Hi, I'm Sharon.
Gosh, how do I tell you about myself in 100 words or less. I know you're hoping less. Me, too.
I've known God my whole life and have been in ministry for most, if not all, of my adult life. It wasn't until I discovered this new church, Willowcreek Community Church in Barrington, IL in my early 20s, that I truly began an intentional relationship with Jesus. And it was there that the trajectory of my life truly took off.
For 25 years I was an actor and writer for the drama team at Willowcreek. After that, I started my own business, Truth Driven Drama, where I worked with individual church drama teams and sketch writers.
From there I went to Heartland Community Church in Rockford, IL to be their drama director only to soon find myself the Director of Heartland Kids. All because I mentioned that the kids ministry should be just as excellent as the adult ministry. I worked at Heartland for about 7 years and then headed to Phoenix, Arizona where I was the director of a kids' ministry for a year.
And then it was onto Red Rocks Church in CO to lead a multi-campus kids ministry. Yowza! After 3 years in Colorado, I decided to move to Sun Prairie, WI so I could be near my grandkids, Eva and Phoenix. And that is where I remain, at Heartland Church as the Heartland Kids Curriculum Coordinator and Project Manager for Heartland's Production Team.
I get questioned on occasion as to when I plan to retire. I can't imagine it. I feel as though I'm in my prime, doing what I love. Writing, creating, producing.
In my down time, I read. A LOT. Fiction of all kinds. I am an outgoing introvert, constantly working on being comfortable in crowds and living outside myself.
I love my family deeply. I love God even more. I want so desperately to live a life that honors God and a life that continues to learn and grow and become more of who I was created to be.
I'm grateful you've stopped by. If you have time, leave a note and then let's meet again on Monday.
